Nick Shirek
Rydell GM Auto Center in Grand Forks
The Rydell Company believes in providing opportunities for personal and professional growth. I started my career with Rydell in 2010 selling cars. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to work in every facet of the Sales Department all the way to my current role as General Sales Manager.
My goal is to own a store one day and provide those same opportunities for others. Working for The Rydell Company has been nothing short of exciting.
I love the Auto business, it’s energizing and no two days are ever alike! I am honored to be a part of The Rydell Company, not only for the endless benefits and resources they offer me, but because it is a company with “real” values and a vision that truly cares about creating growth and helping each of us be the very best we can be.
The auto industry has given me so such an opportunity to learn and grow. I began as a part time cashier in college, then moved into full-time roles as a service advisor, service manager. I’ve worked in almost every position within accounting, payroll and HR. Those experiences lead me to the office manager role, then into the controller position. Over the years, our organization grew to multiple stores and to a point where we were in need of a CFO, which is where I am today!

Hastings Ford Lincoln
Working for The Rydell Company has given me direction. I was 22, just out of college, and had no idea what I wanted to be, except for successful. A decade later, I’ve had the opportunity to work within every department in the dealership, have taken on leadership roles within my community, and have been helpful to many causes and people that mean so much to me.
Being an employee of The Rydell Company has allowed me access to many encouraging mentors, who were all excited to have the chance to help me. The Rydell Company breeds success by helping build-up others and forever grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had because of that.

Training Manager, Apple Autos
When I first started in Sales at Apple Autos, I was fortunate to have Managers who were passionate about our sales process and the importance of ongoing training. Because of their example, I’m fortunate to be able to pass along the same passion and enthusiasm to our new trainees, helping champion their lifelong learning.
Working for a company that prioritizing training and learning helps us attract and retain better candidates in today’s competitive business environment. Training is quickly becoming a key differentiator between dealers when competing for new talent since employees want to work for companies that focus on helping their employees succeed and advance not only professionally, but personally as well.

Controller, Kirksville Motor Company
There is a misconception that the only positions at a dealership are as a salesperson or a technician. It takes many different talents to run a successful team and we offer many different opportunities for a variety of career paths.
We have positions in Human Resources, Customer Service, Finance, Management and Accounting. One of the most exciting things to see is an employee grow within the company. We always look within our teams when a position is open and we have had many successful transitions.

Being encouraged to make a difference is a key part of the Rydell DNA. Our Values, Mission and Philosophy give us clear direction and purpose when it comes to our professional and personal lives. Whether it’s sponsoring a community event or working with an employee as they grow and develop in their career at the dealership - I feel like the ‘Rydell Way’ is to make a difference everywhere you can.
The team at White Bear Mitsubishi feel like family to so many employees and working here doesn't feel like ‘just another job’. We all encourage one another to do better, support each other and encourage growth in our lives at work and at home.

At Sioux Falls Ford, I feel like I’m part of a family. I’m always encouraged to do my very best and I feel like I make a difference when it comes to coaching and mentoring other technicians in the shop.
We have a great team that takes a lot of pride in fixing our guests’ vehicles correctly the first time, as well as providing an exceptional customer experience. I believe this truly sets us apart from the competition.
Robert Johnson
Service Manager, Chevrolet Cadillac of Santa Fe
On a daily basis, we deal with guests either making a big purchase buying a new vehicle or repairing the vehicle in the shop, and they want to feel that they are being taken care of and not being lied to. This is the same for employees, employees need to know that as a company we make all of our decisions with honesty and integrity. Doing what is right and honest is always the path of least resistance, and it makes your employees and customers feel great about their experience at the dealership.
